Wallenberg Visiting Professor Richard Schoen

In the fall of 2019, Prof. Richard Schoen is one of the organizers of the Institut Mittag-Leffler program:

General Relativity, Geometry and Analysis beyond the first 100 years after Einstein

Prof. Richard Schoen holds professorships at UC Irvine and at Stanford University and works in the field of geometric analysis. He is, together with S.-T. Yau, one of the founders of the subject. From the very beginning, Prof. Schoen has produced very strong results in the area. His work is characterized by powerful technical strength and a clear vision of geometric relevance, as demonstrated by him being involved in the early stages of areas that later witnessed breakthroughs.

Prof. Schoen has received several awards, including the Wolf prize and the Rolf Schock Prize.

His stay, which is extremely valuable for Swedish mathematicians as well as all the participants of the Mittag-Leffler program, is funded by the Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg foundation.
