A BGK-model derived from a particle system

The BGK model is a model of the nonlinear Boltzmann equation that has been successfully used for simulation of real gas flows. We discuss a particle model that formally has a BKG-equation as its limit when the number of particles go to infinity, and prove a rigorous result for a modification of the Kac equation.
