Counting projective modules over arithmetic rings

Algebro-Geometric and Homotopical Methods

25 April 15:00 - 16:00

Aravind Asok - University of Southern California

It is a classical fact that if R is the ring of integers in a number field or the ring of regular functions on a smooth affine curve over a finite field, then the Picard group of R is finite. I will discuss some higher-dimensional/higher-rank variants of this result.
