How to prove convergence of approximate solutions of hyperbolic conservation laws?

Interactions between Partial Differential Equations & Functional Inequalities

03 November 16:00 - 16:50

Ulrik Skre Fjordholm - NTNU - Norwegian University of Science and Technology

In this talk I will explain how to use the method of compensated compactness, due to Murat & Tartar, to show convergence of sequences of approximate solutions of hyperbolic conservation laws. I will consider two examples: A standard parabolic regularization, and a class of high-order accurate numerical schemes.
