The Infinity-Eigenvalue Problem

Geometric Aspects of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations

15 November 14:00 - 15:00

Peter Lindqvist - NTNU - Norwegian University of Science and Technology

The eigenvalue problem associated with the Infinity-Laplace Operator has fascinating features. The infinity-ground state (the positive eigenfunction with zero boundary values) exhibits some arcane geometric properties. Higher eigenfunctions are, as it were, related to sphere packing.
