Seminar

On the Leray problem and the Poiseuille flow

Geometric Aspects of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations

14 September 14:00 - 15:00

Michel Chipot - University of Zurich

The goal of this talk is to present a simple proof of existence and uniqueness of the solution of the stationary Navier-stokes problem for high viscosities and homogeneous or non-homogeneous boundary conditions. Furthermore we address the issue of uniqueness of the Poiseuille flow in a pipe.
