On traveling wave solutions for a shallow water equation modeling waves of moderate amplitude

Interactions between Partial Differential Equations & Functional Inequalities

22 September 17:00 - 17:30

Anna Geyer - University of Vienna

In this talk I will give a brief introduction into some aspects of the mathematical modeling of water waves. I will then focus on nonlinear dispersive equations modeling the evolution of surface waves in shallow water, for which I discuss weak and classical traveling wave solutions and a result on orbital stability for solitary waves.
