V-variable image compression

Fractal Geometry and Dynamics

14 November 15:00 - 15:50

Örjan Stenflo - Uppsala University

V-variable fractals, where V is a positive integer, are intuitively fractals with at most V different "forms" or "shapes" at all levels of magnification. In this talk we describe how the concept of V-variability can be used for the purpose of image compression. Joint work with Franklin Mendivil.
