This talk is given together with Nikolai Shirokov. The famous theorem by Aharonov-Casher establishes the existence of zero modes of the 2D Pauli operator and expresses the dimension of the zero subspace in the terms of the total flux of the magnetic field, under the condition that the flux is finite. We describe what happens when the flux is infinite. Some interesting questions from the complex analysis arize.
