Ben Brubaker: Solvable Lattice Models and Representation Theory: An Overview (part 2)

Date: 2026-07-27

Time: 11:15 - 12:00

Speaker
Ben Brubaker, University of Minnesota

Abstract
We review how solvable lattice models connect to representation theory in two ways. In the first part of the talk, we recall how and why it is useful to regard partition functions of lattice models as matrix coefficients of quantum group modules. In the second part of the talk, we discuss how matrix coefficients from algebraic groups over p-adic fields may be expressed in terms of these quantum group matrix coefficients. The hope is that this survey sets the table for subsequent talks that explain cutting-edge research in these questions in more detail.
