Abstract
There is a close connection between the graph isomorphism game and Wang’s quantum permutation groups through quantum symmetries of graphs, and this has led to an interesting interplay between ideas from quantum information theory and quantum groups. I will start by reviewing some of these developments, and then discuss extensions of the notion of quantum symmetry beyond its original scope. More specifically, I’ll present some concrete problems where quantum permutations and topology come together in a peculiar way.
