Abstract
We introduce the maximum likelihood estimation problem, and give a formula for the maximum likelihood degree of the Grassmannian of lines $\mathrm{Gr}(2,n)$. We show that the likelihood function is concave on the positive Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}(2,n)_{>0}$.
