Abstract
In this talk, I will give a high-level introduction to Schur multipliers, with a particular focus on multilinear Schur multipliers. Their boundedness properties remain much less understood than in the linear case, despite multilinear Schur multipliers associated with divided difference functions arising naturally in perturbation theory. I will outline recent joint work with Martijn Caspers, in which we obtain sharp bounds for such multilinear Schur multipliers.
Note: This is a 10-minute practice talk for the KWG PhD Prize final on 8 May, aimed at a broad mathematical audience. I would very much appreciate any feedback!
