Abstract
In this talk, I will present the two-dimensional analogue of the asymptotics for Toeplitz determinants with Fisher-Hartwig singularities and discuss several applications. These include the convergence of the characteristic polynomial of the Ginibre ensemble to the Gaussian Multiplicative Chaos measure. I will also provide a very brief outline of the surgery method we developed to address these singularities and establish global asymptotics. Based on joint work with Paul Bourgade, Guillaume Dubach, and Lisa Hartung.
