Abstract
In probability theory, functional inequalities are powerful tools in the study of analytic and probabilistic properties of Markov process. In recent years, noncommutative functional inequalities has attracted a lot of attentions for many applications in quantum information. In the first part of the talk, I will give an overview on the recent development on a noncommutative theory of functional inequalities for quantum Markov semigroup, with a focus on Modified Log-Sobolev inequalities. The second part will focus the applications in quantum information theory, especially on the recent progress on quantum Gibbs state thermailzation and sampling.
