Abstract
The anyon content of a gapped ground state of a two-dimensional quantum lattice system is captured by the braided C*-tensor category associated to that ground state by the (lattice version of the) DHR superselection theory. I will discuss recent progress on computing this category for Kitaev’s quantum double models and Levin-Wen models. (Based on joint work with M. Hamdan, P. Naaijkens, and S. Vadnerkar (arXiv:2310.19661, arXiv:2503.15611), and ongoing work with Boris Kjaer.)
