Nicolas de Saxcé [WS1]: Subspaces, angles and Diophantine approximation

Date: 2026-09-25

Time: 11:15 - 12:15

Speaker
Nicolas de Saxcé, Université Paris-Nord

Abstract
In 1967, Schmidt placed the classical results of Diophantine

approximation in the more general setting of rational approximations to

linear subspaces. We shall recall this general setting, and then focus

on a particularly interesting case: approximating planes in R^4 by

rational planes along the first angle. (Joint project with Uri Shapira.)
