Abstract
An important function that provides arithmetic and geometric information about a Borel probability measure is its Fourier transform. Knowledge of the Fourier transform can be applied to problems in areas as diverse as Combinatorics, Dynamical Systems, and Quantum Chaos. In recent years significant progress has been made in understanding the Fourier transform of measures with some dynamical origins. In these lectures we will discuss some of these results and the techniques involved in their proofs.
