Abstract
In this talk I will give a brief overview of the deformation complex for anti-self-dual 4-manifolds, and formulate a conjecture (attributed to Singer) about the vanishing of one of the cohomology groups. I will then report on some recent progress on resolving this conjecture, and its connection to a nonlinear PDE from spectral geometry.
