Abstract
I will survey the current state of understanding of gluing in log Gromov-Witten theory, as developed by Abramovich, Chen, myself and Siebert. Gluing formulas are meant to generalize the Li-Ruan and Jun Li gluing formulas in relative Gromov-Witten theory. I will explain the basic difficulties and try to outline various approaches, including the approaches of Wu and Ranganathan.
