Abstract
We review recent results on the behaviour of fluids in cosmological spacetimes, which undergo decelerated expansion. The well known effect of fluid stabilisation in expanding spacetimes, which prevents sufficiently homogeneous fluids from forming shocks, is weak in the decelerating regime. Nevertheless, under certain conditions, the effect is sufficiently strong to still stabilize fluids. We explain the mechanism behind the effect and present complementary numerical evidence, which indentifies a sharp condition for fluid stabilization to hold. This is joint work with M. Maliborski, M. Ofner, T. Oliynyk and Z. Wyatt.
