Anders Szepessy: [FW] Fluid dynamics and its constitutive relations: is the pressure stochastic?

Abstract
The fundamental conservation of mass, momentum and energy includes the constitutive relations for the stress tensor and the heat flux. The stress tensor and heat flux can be determined from first principles by molecular dynamics or estimated from measurements. One may wonder what precisely are these quantities? Are they functions or distributions? I will present an old and a new derivation for stochastic pressure and relate to recent work on improved multiphysics modelling in weather forecasts and turbulent fluid simulations using learned distributions.
