Abstract
The quantum Stein lemma studies the error estimates of quantum hypothesis testing for physical states of quantum systems. In this talk I will present a recent complete result of second order quantum Stein’s lemma in the infinite-dimensional setting. The modular theory and Haagerup’s Lp spaces on type III von Neumann algebras play a key role in the argument. This is joint work with Yan Pautrat (arxiv:2010.02177, Ann. Henri Poincaré 2023).
