AbstractI will discuss recent progress on understanding the color-kinematics duality off shell, as well as the associated double copy construction. The color-kinematics duality suggests that the perturbative kinematics of many gauge theories are described by some Lie algebra, analogous to the Lie algebra for color factors. I will present several examples of such a kinematic Lie algebras including for Chern-Simons, BF, and 2D Yang-Mills theories. Understanding of the kinematic algebra allows one to double copy the gauge theories into various gravity-like theories, and this is done completely off-shell as well.
