Abstract
Stokesian flows of particles and capsules are of interest in various industrial, biological and medical processes, one example being blood flow through the capillaries. In this talk, I will discuss boundary integral formulations and discretizations of rigid particles, rigid walls and deformable capsules. Special quadrature methods for singular integrands are needed to compute the boundary integrals. For the capsules, stabilization may also be needed for simulations over long time. Furthermore, a fast summation method is needed for large-scale problems; here, I present a few results for our fast Ewald summation method. Finally, I will briefly discuss how skeletonization can be used to compress far-field interactions between well-separated objects.
