Abstract
The Internodes method is an accurate interpolation-based approach designed to solve PDEs in multidomain settings when subdomains are non-conforming at the common interface. Non-conformity can be either geometrical or induced by discretization. PDEs can be discretized within each subdomain using any Galerkin-based methods, such as Finite Elements, Spectral Elements, or Isogeometric Analysis. Internodes can be used as well to solve heterogeneous problems, that is, when different physics are modeled inside the subdomains. We discuss the theoretical properties of Internodes, including accuracy and conservativeness across the interface, as well as its scalability on parallel architectures. Finally, we show how internodes can be applied in the context of Reduced Order Models.
