Quantum Fields and Probability II

July 15 - July 19, 2024

Quantum field theories (QFTs) have been successfully applied to model and analyze diverse physical phenomena such as critical behavior in statistical mechanics and interactions of fundamental particles. However, except in special cases, the rigorous mathematical understanding of QFTs — including fundamental questions about their very construction — remains limited. This workshop, which is the second part in a series of events, will bring together a mix of mathematicians and physicists at Institut Mittag-Leffler focussing on rigorous probabilistic approaches to QFT. Topics will include Liouville CFT and beyond, conformal bootstrap, Yang-Mills theories, random conformal geometry, coulomb gases, and more.
